Policies Related to Bankruptcy Counseling Certificates
Telephone counseling and call backs on Internet counseling occur during our business hours:
Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm (Central)
For those completing the Client Intake Form on the Internet, our policy is to call you and issue certificates no later than the next business morning after the session is completed, by 12:00 noon (Central).
If you have a deadline and must have an Expedited Certificate, i.e., you must have your certificate the same day you complete the session, call our customer service number before registering and make arrangements with one of our staff.
Certificates will be issued by the method you select when you register, either email or U.S. Mail
If you also want your certificate sent directly to your Attorney, you must complete at least one of the following:
Enter the Attorney code, given to you by your Attorney, or
Enter your Attorney's name, telephone number, and other contact information. Failure to provide correct contact information for yourself or your Attorney will delay the issuance of your certificate.
Any delay receiving a certificate caused by submitting incorrect contact information, will not be the fault of The Mesquite Group, Inc.
If you complete the online Client Intake Form after business hours on Saturday (6:00 p.m., CST) or Sunday, your call back and certificate will be the following business day (by 12:00 noon CST).
If you begin the counseling process for a session you need and do not complete the session for any reason, you may be issued a full refund, if you make a request within 45 days of your registration. If you register for a class and do not complete the class. your session will be voided after 45 days. You will need to re-register, pay and take the class again. If your certificate has already been issued and services were rendered, we are unable to issue a refund.
The Credit Counseling session is needed prior to your case filing and the Personal Financial Management session is required after your case has been filed but prior to discharge. If you complete the wrong session when registering online a refund will not be issued nor will the payment be applied to another session. For example, you registered and completed the Credit Counseling session twice instead of taking the Personal Financial Management session or vice versa, or the second session was taken before the first session. Once the session is completed, a refund will not be issued.
